Introduction to Media Studies
Hey! Welcome, my name is Sandy Andrade and sadly I do not have a nickname but sandy is still good! I am currently in eleventh grade at Fort Lauderdale high school and I am sixteen years old. I am a pretty bubbly person and I like to joke around a lot even though many say that at first glance I seem cold. I like to be an openminded person, and spread the word of right and wrong. Recently with all of the issues around the world, I have educated myself and shared it, hoping to bring positive and inspiring things to others.
I live with my mother and father who came from Guatemala in 1985 to New York and later they moved to Florida, where I was born. I also have one older sister (middle child) and older brother (the first child) whose names are Alison and Christian. And I also have a handsome dog named Leo.
My friends and family tend to say that I am very wise at times and they ask me for advice which is crazy since I have not experienced enough in my life to give advice. Growing up I saw a lot of people around me in sad and difficult situations, it seemed as if no matter what age you were, there would always be hardships. And as a child I did not understand, but around 15 years old, I realized life is not always fair and there's no age limit to someone's unfair suffering. This realization was my inspiration to deciding my career path, psychologist. Talking about your hardships or even just how to feel can be very helpful to oneself. Many my age suffer with depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, phobias of all kinds, eating disorders, personality disorders and so many more. I felt inspired of this and decided that my destiny is to help those of my age, and to pull away the stigma that not being okay is wrong.
