Planning for my Cantu commercial

 Props

Since I decided to do a Cantu curling cream commercial, my main prop is the curling cream product. Other props will be a towel, hairbrush, mirror, and clips. 

Costumes

The costume that the person in my commercial will use is a robe to show how she just got out of the shower from washing her hair. She will also be using casual clothes to show that she is ready to go out for her day, and that she completed her morning routine where she used the cream for a wonderful hair day. Her casual outfit will consist of a simple shirt and jeans with sandals. 

Schedule

On October 22, 2020, I researched the conventions of hair product commercials. 

On October 23, 2020, I planned my Cantu commercial. I also established the props, costumes, schedule, set location, and a backup plan. 

On October 25, 2020, I will create my storyboard of the Cantu curly hair product commercial. 

On October 27, 2020, I will film my Cantu commercial and record any sounds that are needed. 

October 28, 2020 and on, I will edit the commercial as needed. 

Location

The main location is at a friends house in pompano beach. The commercial will be specifically shot in the bathroom of her house. This is to show that she is getting ready and that's when she will use the cream on her hair, afterwards once she is ready and her hair is dry, we will move to the second location. 

The second location is her garden where we will show how happy she is with the product and her hair, and how radiant her hair is under the sun. This will help show her shiny and moisturized hair showing what the product is for which is moisturizing and defining curls and repairing damaged hair.  She will interact with her cat as well to emphasize how she spends her day with happiness. 

Backup Plan 

If the weather is bad then we will instead stay inside her house and record her spending a good time in her house while showing off her curly and strong hair. This will help to still show how she despite everything is having a good hair day because of the Cantu coconut cream. If we cannot do it at my friends house then we will instead do it at my house. If my friend cannot participate in the acting of the commercial then I'll act it out and she will be the camerawoman.

Final task: Filming and editing process

As of recently, my partner and I have to decided to start our filming process on March 8, 2021. Unfortunately we could not begin filming before due to serveral reasons. Our actress playing Irene, is out of town and will be arriving March 6, 2021, which is the major reason of why we decided to begin on March 8. The actor playing Johnny also could not film earlier because he had plans involving school homework, studying for several tests and work. My partner and I looked out for our actors and decided to begin filming on a day everybody would be available.  We finished all of our planning and research and now we will prepare for filming. As of now, we have not changed or added new locations for our opening sequence. We have set all of our plans for our settings and when we will go to our assigned locations. Genre Research: The Giver

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Another movie we will use to base our final task on is The Giver.  The Giver is a science fiction movie which is based on a novel. The setting of  The Giver was in an isolated piece of land broken off and disconnected from the rest of the world. This set up the plot of the story of the film.  In the movie they use a lot of different filming techniques to express the different emotions throughout the film.  Since the movie is about "The receiver of memories" they use zooms, close-ups, establishing shots, track, mid-shots, low and high angles and many more to show the emotions of the characters in the story.
