What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? 

The titles that are displayed are the credits for the director, screenplay, screen story, Marvel comics, producer, executive producers, director of photography, production designer, editors, music, actors, etc. They also displayed the title of the movie in the beginning before all of the credits. They displayed the titles in black and white text. 

What images are prioritized in the opening sequences? 

The images that are prioritized during the opening sequence are very similar throughout. There is the main use of a black substance throughout the sequence. It displays the patterns of a parasite in the form of a face. There are rapid images of this substance in the colors red, white, and black. There is also the image of what can be said are the hands of venom.They also show the image of a monster-like face with extremely big and sharp teeth and a large tongue. Over all the substance is seen spreading multiple times.  

What connotations do these images carry? 

The connotations behind the substance shown are to present the parasite that lives inside of the main character of the story. The way the substance is portrayed is almost like a view of cells being seen through a microscope. The connotations behind the formation of the face of venom and his hands were to show his monster-like features. The substance is seen replicating in the opening sequence which is to represent the idea of a parasite spreading. 

How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

The film establishes itself as a sci-fi film by showing the parasite, which looks extremely monster-like. During the opening sequence, the black and white substance sometimes turned red, which symbolizes blood since, in the movie, the parasite was inside the main character. Also, the black and white substance is shown as cells viewed in a microscope, which is related to the concept of science.

What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience?

The Venom film is based on the Spider-Man comic books and Venom comic books. The Spider-Man comic books and Venom comic books were made and published by Marvel Comics, which is a famous publishing company. Due to the comic books, there was already a fanbase for the character Venom. The Venom film achieved its goal to target its audience by including Venom in the opening sequence.

How has technology been used effectively? 

There is a dissolve-in effect in the title of the movie. The black and white substance is used to transition the credits and the animated Venom. There is a coloring change for the black and white substance; the black and white substance sometimes changed to the color red in the opening sequence. There are several zoom-in and zoom-out transitions.

Final task: Filming and editing process

As of recently, my partner and I have to decided to start our filming process on March 8, 2021. Unfortunately we could not begin filming before due to serveral reasons. Our actress playing Irene, is out of town and will be arriving March 6, 2021, which is the major reason of why we decided to begin on March 8. The actor playing Johnny also could not film earlier because he had plans involving school homework, studying for several tests and work. My partner and I looked out for our actors and decided to begin filming on a day everybody would be available.  We finished all of our planning and research and now we will prepare for filming. As of now, we have not changed or added new locations for our opening sequence. We have set all of our plans for our settings and when we will go to our assigned locations. Genre Research: The Giver

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Another movie we will use to base our final task on is The Giver.  The Giver is a science fiction movie which is based on a novel. The setting of  The Giver was in an isolated piece of land broken off and disconnected from the rest of the world. This set up the plot of the story of the film.  In the movie they use a lot of different filming techniques to express the different emotions throughout the film.  Since the movie is about "The receiver of memories" they use zooms, close-ups, establishing shots, track, mid-shots, low and high angles and many more to show the emotions of the characters in the story.
