Planning for my Music Video

Song title

The song title is Pretty Girl by the artist Clairo. This song is under the genre Alternative/indie. 

Props

Since we want to portray the idea of girls/women feeling pressure when it comes to beauty standards our props will consist of Magazines, phones, television, mirror, markers and a hairbrush.

Costumes

In our music video, my partner and I will be in the music video so we will have several costumes. In the beginning of the music video we will be wearing hoodies and sweatpants. This is to represent women that are insecure and decide to not wear what they truly want to in fear of being judged. The hoodies and sweatpants that we will be wearing will be in dull colors to set a sad mood. One of us will be wearing a skirt to record for a part of the song that says "I'll wear a skirt for you." This will demonstrate how women tend to only wear what society calls for them to wear. In the last part, my partner and I will be wearing clothes that we like/feel good in. Margarita, my partner, will be wearing a white dress which she really likes. I will be wearing Jeans, a plain orange shirt with a cardigan, an outfit of which I feel comfortable in. 

Schedule

On November 12th, 2020, My partner and I discussed what song to use for this major project and the story/message that we want to display on the music video. 

On November 16th, 2020, We completed the research blog about the conventions of the genre Alternative/Indie. 

On November 17th, 2020, We finalized our schedule for the production of our music video. We also discussed props and costumes for our music video. 

From November 18th to the 20th, 2020, my partner and I will work on the storyboard for our music video. 

From November 23rd to the 24th, 2020, we will film all the scenes for our music video. 

From November 26th to the 28th, 2020, we will be editing all of our clips.

Location

Our main location for this project is Margarita's house. We will film the beginning part of our music video in Margarita's house. Our second location is Pompano Community Park, this is where we will record the last scenes for our music video.

Backup Plan 

If we cannot film at the park, then we will film outside of Margarita's house. If we cannot be at Margarita's house, then we will film at my house.

Final task: Filming and editing process

As of recently, my partner and I have to decided to start our filming process on March 8, 2021. Unfortunately we could not begin filming before due to serveral reasons. Our actress playing Irene, is out of town and will be arriving March 6, 2021, which is the major reason of why we decided to begin on March 8. The actor playing Johnny also could not film earlier because he had plans involving school homework, studying for several tests and work. My partner and I looked out for our actors and decided to begin filming on a day everybody would be available.  We finished all of our planning and research and now we will prepare for filming. As of now, we have not changed or added new locations for our opening sequence. We have set all of our plans for our settings and when we will go to our assigned locations. Genre Research: The Giver

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Another movie we will use to base our final task on is The Giver.  The Giver is a science fiction movie which is based on a novel. The setting of  The Giver was in an isolated piece of land broken off and disconnected from the rest of the world. This set up the plot of the story of the film.  In the movie they use a lot of different filming techniques to express the different emotions throughout the film.  Since the movie is about "The receiver of memories" they use zooms, close-ups, establishing shots, track, mid-shots, low and high angles and many more to show the emotions of the characters in the story.
