Editing the music video
After filming all of our scenes for the Pretty Girl music video, we began editing a day later to take a small break. We collected all of the clips together and decided that we would use Cute CUT Pro to edit our video. Once we were in Cute CUT Pro we began putting the clips in the correct order like in our storyboard. Once the clips were ready, it was time to add the song, Pretty Girl. We needed to sync the scenes along with the song so we had to cut little parts off one scene. There was some trouble with the scene were I was lip-syncing to the lyrics so the clip was cut off a few seconds. Since we were having trouble with this we also had to cut off the last second of the scene were my partner, Margarita, was throwing the Skirt onto the floor. Next we moved onto the scene with the mirror, which we had to change our ideas for. Originally we wanted to make Margarita's reflection in the mirror disappear and it would be replaced with negative words to give our message. We began by using a picture of the mirror I had taken and cut out only the mirror and turned it into a PNG to put it on the clip of the mirror scene. We realized that we could not do this because the picture kept coming out of place when the camera moved in the clip, blocking Margarita, so we looked for alternatives. Margarita suggested that we could brainstorm idea's on what to do and we got something new to do. We decided on using a transition that would shift the clip of the mirror by itself to play after the clip of Margarita staring at herself. To do this we used a slide transition of a filled shape. We did this transition by using Self-Draw in Cute CUT Pro to add a new layer and a tool-bar came up. From here, we pressed on 'shape' to add a rectangle on the left side of the screen and made it like a sage color. After this, we changed the duration of the shape to take three seconds and we spilt the layer into two. First we had to position it by moving two triangles that show up when you press on the transition. We put the rectangle shape in the middle for the second layer and added the transition. We proceeded and pressed on the second triangle of the custom transition and changed the position of the rectangle for one last time and put it out of the frame on the right. We then added the negative words (thoughts) on the mirror and made them fade into the mirror. We finished editing the first six scenes and we wrapped it up because it was quite late and we had taken a few hours editing.
