Drama Genre 

CAMS

  • The common camera angles and shots are wide-angle, long shot, medium shot, close-up, extreme close-up, two-shot, and over-the-shoulder. 
  • The typical camera movements are pans and tilts. 
CLAMPS
  • The costumes are expressive and are used to emphasize the personalities and their stories.
  • The usual lighting in drama is low-key lighting to emphasize dramatic scenes. 
  • The acting can be serious or not depending on the emotions of the film.
  • Makeup in the drama genre is usually minimal 
  • There is usually a lower amount of props to put focus on the actors.
  • The setting usually contributes to the theme and plotline. 
Editing
  • The editing in the drama genre is editing commonly seen in movies, for example, cutting and filters. 
  • Editing is used to enhance and dramatize the events of the film. 
Film Examples
  • Some drama movie examples are Little Women, Five Feet Apart, Call Me by Your Name, Wonder, and Hidden Figures. 
Sound
  • The common sounds in drama films are usually diegetic sound, and background music. 
Elements That We Like 
  • The element that we like is the plot because shapes the film. 
  • We also like the character element because they are relatable. 
Element We Do Not Like
  • We do not like the dramatic tension because it can be overwhelming. 


Action Genre

CAMS
  • The common camera angles are high angle, low angle, Dutch angle, and over-the-shoulder.
  • The typical camera shots are aerial shots, medium shots, and long shots. 
  • The usual camera movement are pan, tilt, tracking, and crane. 
CLAMPS
  • The costumes are detailed and very exaggerated. 
  • The lighting in action films are low-key and high-key lighting.
  • The acting depends on the story.
  • The makeup of the actors is usually detailed and exaggerated. 
  • Props usually consists of weapons. 
  • Setting is usually excessive or it can be set in city.
Editing 
  • Editing typically consists of skip scene, insert, cutaway, eyeline match, and cross cutting.
  • In action movies they use green screen and special effects to create fights, stunts, and life threatening situations. 
Film Examples
  • Some action movie examples are Black Panther, Terminator, Jack the Giant Slayer, John Wick 3, and The Avengers. 
Sound
  • The common sound is non-diegetic, diegetic, and synchronous sound. 
Elements That We Like
  • The elements that we enjoy are excitement and thrill. 
Element We Do Not Like
  • The element we do not like is how predictable some action films can be.
