Our Pitch

Pitch one: A guy who sees the future has a vision of a friend dying and he tries to prevent it. 

Pitch two: A woman conducts her own kidnapping to trick and murder her friend. 


Why pitch one? 

We are interested in this type of distinct concept since it is not content we see commonly. It will be easier to do this pitch as it only requires two settings, which means we do not have to move around a lot. Not having to move around a lot makes it safer and keeps us from getting exposed to the virus. We believe that the concept is something people would want to see more of. 

Why not pitch one? 

We will have a hard time recruiting a male actor to fit the male character since we do not know guys who are willing to play the part. It would be difficult to find a setting that will fit the concept of the story. 


Why pitch two?

It is a concept that keeps people on edge and it has a plot twist. We believe that it would catch the attention of those who want to find out more of the story. 

Why not pitch two? 

This film would require the use of multiple settings, which means we would have to move around more. The plot twists might end up confusing some viewers depending on how it is recorded. Since we have to be careful on how we portray the story, it would require more work. Since this story is more complex we would need the help of more people which is less safe since it could expose to COVID-19. 


Final decision: 

A guy who sees the future has a vision of a friend dying and he tries to prevent it. 

Our final decision is pitch one. We chose pitch one because we are more comfortable with the concept of the film. Pitch one would be easier to produce since we do not have to move around a lot. Due to the pandemic we are not allowed to be around a large group of people so this would be convenient for us. The difficulties we might face are things that have solutions.

Final task: Filming and editing process

As of recently, my partner and I have to decided to start our filming process on March 8, 2021. Unfortunately we could not begin filming before due to serveral reasons. Our actress playing Irene, is out of town and will be arriving March 6, 2021, which is the major reason of why we decided to begin on March 8. The actor playing Johnny also could not film earlier because he had plans involving school homework, studying for several tests and work. My partner and I looked out for our actors and decided to begin filming on a day everybody would be available.  We finished all of our planning and research and now we will prepare for filming. As of now, we have not changed or added new locations for our opening sequence. We have set all of our plans for our settings and when we will go to our assigned locations. Genre Research: The Giver

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Another movie we will use to base our final task on is The Giver.  The Giver is a science fiction movie which is based on a novel. The setting of  The Giver was in an isolated piece of land broken off and disconnected from the rest of the world. This set up the plot of the story of the film.  In the movie they use a lot of different filming techniques to express the different emotions throughout the film.  Since the movie is about "The receiver of memories" they use zooms, close-ups, establishing shots, track, mid-shots, low and high angles and many more to show the emotions of the characters in the story.
