Final task: Filming and editing process

As of recently, my partner and I have to decided to start our filming process on March 8, 2021. Unfortunately we could not begin filming before due to serveral reasons. Our actress playing Irene, is out of town and will be arriving March 6, 2021, which is the major reason of why we decided to begin on March 8. The actor playing Johnny also could not film earlier because he had plans involving school homework, studying for several tests and work. My partner and I looked out for our actors and decided to begin filming on a day everybody would be available. 

We finished all of our planning and research and now we will prepare for filming. As of now, we have not changed or added new locations for our opening sequence. We have set all of our plans for our settings and when we will go to our assigned locations. We have also not added anything new to our scripts or storyboard, however, if changes are made they will be included in the blogs. We carefully chose the actors for our opening sequence and we are satisfied with them so there will be no changes except in the case of an emergency. Since we have everything planned out and ready there are no problems which we might run into before, during nor after filming. 

My partner and I have decided to keep the sound we chose during our planning, however, we are still contemplating it since we are looking in case we find anything that might mix better with our opening sequence. We found the sound together and felt that it fits the mood and it contributes to the vision scenes. The sound we will be using is royalty free, so there was no need for asking permission. 

Before filming, my partner and I plan to prepare the props needed to film. We also plan to buy masks and handsanitizer for everyone to use during our meetings to film. Due to the pandemic we are living through, we need to be careful and that is why my partner and I will make sure to follow all guidelines to stay safe from COVID-19. 

We are thrilled to begin filming for our opening sequence next week. I look foward to working with everyone and contributing to our project. I am excited to see our idea rise into real life work.

Genre Research: The Giver

What elements of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have? Another movie we will use to base our final task on is The Giver.  The Giver is a science fiction movie which is based on a novel. The setting of  The Giver was in an isolated piece of land broken off and disconnected from the rest of the world. This set up the plot of the story of the film.  In the movie they use a lot of different filming techniques to express the different emotions throughout the film.  Since the movie is about "The receiver of memories" they use zooms, close-ups, establishing shots, track, mid-shots, low and high angles and many more to show the emotions of the characters in the story.
