Production Blog: preparing props and sound ideas

Today, my partner and I focused on preparing our props for filming next week and recorded more sounds. After a long day at school, Margarita and I went out to shop for some props needed in our opening sequence. We decided to go to party city to buy some fake blood. We need this for a scene in our opening sequence. This scene is planned to be recorded next week so we decided to prepare our props ahead of time. Once we finished preparing the props, we went our separate ways home. I had originally planned to record more scenes today with the actress playing Irene, but she had to reschedule to March 14, 2021. On that day I plan on recording two of the voiceovers again since I realized there is background voices. I also plan on filming scene five. I would also like to film the scenes at the Pompano Community Park if there is time on March 14.

My partner was in charge of recording a sound needed for one of Johnny's scenes. In the scene, Johnny is asleep and he is wearing headphones in the scene while listening to music. We wanted to record separately, the sound of muffled music coming from the headphones but my partner faced a problem. My partner contacted me and talked to me about her process of recording the sound. She said she played back the recordings but kept hearing an annoying sound of strong air in the background. Without thinking twice, I told her I would try recording the sound myself and I would get back to her. After trying over 10 times, I told her I was facing the same problem as her. We began to discuss what we could do to fix this issue and came up with two solutions. We will either edit the music on After Effects to create the muffled-like sound or try something else. I realized that in the voiceovers, which we recorded for Irene's script, sounded normal and did not have that strong air background noise. So I plan to record it again in the same room and see if it finally works that way.
